DIG Border Range held a Public meeting at Police Line Batala

Sh. Rakesh Kaushal, IPS, DIG/Border Range/Amritsar held a Public Meeting at Police Lines Batala on today Ms Ashwini Gotyal, IPS, SSP/Batala alongwith Gazetted Officers and SHOs were present in the meeting. While addressing the public, DIG/Border Range assured that Border Range Police is fully committed to curb the menace of drugs and steps being taken by the Police to eradicate the drugs from society were shared with the public. The representatives of the public also shared their views on the drug issue and gave their suggestions. DIG/Border Range told that steps being taken by Punjab Government and Punjab Police to curb the drug menace include identifying drug smugglers and taking strict action against them, confiscating the property of drug smugglers, enrolling drug addict youth in rehabilitation centers, organizing tournaments at the village level to create interest in sports among the youth and keep them away from drugs. Apart from this, other complaints of the public were also heard and the concerned officers were instructed to resolve the complaints as soon as possible. The representatives of the public were requested to cooperate with the Police and to give every liable information to the Police regarding the manufacturers/suppliers of drugs/illicit liquor and other anti-social elements so that immediate legal action can be taken against them.
After the meeting with the public, a meeting was held with SSP Batala, all Gazetted Officers and SHO of all Police Stations and necessary instructions were given .
