Search operation (Excise) conducted by Batala Police with Excise Department team in the mand area of Sri Hargobindpur

(Sukhnam Singh) In view of recent recovery of heavy explosives at Amritsar a special search drive was conducted as per directions of DGP Punjab. The search operation along international Border in the area adjoing Dera Baba Nanak was planned and executed under the close supervision of SSP Batala Sh. Gaurav Toora, IPS. A joint task force comprising of BSF Coys, PAP, CID Units, Special Branch, Dog Squad & Anti Sabotage Teams under the command of Superintendent of Police, Investigation Sh. Tejbir Singh, PPS assisted by DSP Homicide Sh. Baljit Singh, PPS, DSP Special Branch Sh. Gurdeep Singh, PPS, DSP DBN, Sh. Lakhwinder Singh, PPS, carried out extensive search in above mentioned areas.
During the search special attention was paid to isolated areas, unpaved roads (Pagdandi), tubewells, freshly dug out areas, freshly cleared areas inside fields, Deras/Gujjar outside villages. Inputs were taken from local sources of Police to identify doubtful/vulnerable areas. Drones were also used to cover inaccessible areas during the search. Combing of fields and villages were conducted by personnel of Joint Task Force. During the raid 500 Kgs of country made liquor were recovered at Dera Baba Nanak. The search will continue on daily basis till further orders.
Also special Excise raids were conducted in, Villages Kapura, Balarwal, Bhol Bhage, Khokhowal (on the banks of river Beas) under the jurisdiction of PS Ghuman and Villages of Mand in area of Shri Hargobindpur comprising Doger, Mahesh, Bhaderpur Rojay, Bhete patten under jurisdiction of PS Sri Hargobindpur for checking illegal distillation of liquor. During the raid 120 Kgs of country made liquor were recovered from Bhaderpur Rojay.
