HLMIA conducted Knowledge Sharing Session on AI

HLMIA (Hoshiarpur Large and Medium Industry Association) conducted Knowledge Sharing Session on AI (Artificial Intelligence)- Generative AI- Opportunities and Challenges for the Industry and moving on to Industry 4.0/5.0 for HLMIA Members at Sonalika- International Tractors Ltd, Hoshiarpur on 21st June 2024. The session was inaugurated by Honโble Sh A S Mittal, Vice Chairman, International Tractors Ltd, Hoshiarpur and Vice Chairman, Punjab State Economic Policy & Planning Board. Sh. IMJS Sidhu, President HLMIA while welcoming the participants informed that Industry 5.0 revolution will be led by AI. He also shared that this knowledge sharing session is initial step for dissemination of knowledge about AI and that HLMIA will collaborate with GNA university, Consultants and Industry experts for its use by industry and more such knowledge sharing session and collaborate project for industry will be taken forward. The Session was conducted by Dr Anurag Sharma, Professor and Head (Computer Science and Engineering) in Faculty of Engineering, Design & Automation, GNA University, Phagwara. Dr Anurag Sharma is a Doctorate from Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar in the field of Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) with more than 16 years of Industrial and teaching experience. He explained how AI is being used in various field viz Manufacturing, Healthcare, Security & Defense, Education, Banking & Finance. Autonomous Vehicles, Entertainment, Workplace etc. He shared that according to Deloitte study-93% of industrial companies believe AI will be game changer in driving growth and innovation in the sector. He also emphasized that the โreal job takersโ are not the algorithms but those who know how to use them, will create value and that best defense against job displacement not resisting AI but becoming adept at leveraging it. Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Deep Learning and Generative AI applications, case studies in automative and manufacturing and AI tools were shared. The interactive session was well attended by Senior Executives of Sonalika, Vardhman Yarns & Threads Ltd, Reliance, Century Plyboard, GNA Gears, GNA Axles, AB Sugars, Usha Martin, Ludhiana Beverages Pvt Ltd. and Dr Anoop Minhas, who an interacted use of AI in medical and health care on Augmentative reality- an experience that enhances the real world with computer-generated perceptual information. Mr. Akshay Sangwan, Director, ITL while proposing vote of thanks to Dr Anurag Sharma, appreciated the way the concept of AI, Machine and deep learning and Generative AI and AI application was explained to all and mentioned that Sonalika would like to collaborate with Dr Anurag and his students for projects in AI.
